Hey {!firstname_fix},
I have a video that I added to my blog on how to
set up a website and blog in less than 15 minutes.
I called the video “7 Minute Websites” because I
can actually get a site up from scratch in under 7
minutes.  Honestly, it took about 12 minutes in
the video, but I was explaining each step as I went
so I don’t think it’s exactly a failure…lol.
Here’s a link to check out the video:
I’d love your feedback so please leave a comment
after you finish watching the video.
Cheers
Tom

Very helpful Tom, thanks! Would it be easy to hook up an existing free WordPress.com blog?

    Hey Jenny,

I don’t believe you can connect the stand alone wordpress.org blog with a WordPress.com blog, but you could include your posts from the old blog. Hope that helps!

I attempted several times to watch this video.. It stops at the same point each time.. When you get finished explaining each of the steps that you will review… Not sure if anyone else had a problem.. Will try again later. Thanks

Was able to watch the video, however the screen information was so small it was difficult to follow. I am familiar with Go Daddy and setting up the web page, just looking for the info on the setting up the blog. Will keep looking.. Thanks.

Thanks, Tom!
This was a GREAT overview of the process “What do I do next??” from thinking about a domain name to setting up a website! Very helpful!

Thanks, Anne! Let me know if there’s anything else you need guidance with and I will try to hook you up.

Hi Tom, Thanks for the info. I was wondering since I already have a website and domain name if it’s necessary to get another one?
Would this be a good way to connect my upcoming history audio to my website?
Since most techno newbies like myself would be happy with setting up a website in less than 10 minutes, I don’t think you need to apologize for taking longer than 7 minutes to walk us through this process.

    Hi Rose.

No, I don’t see any reason you would need another website. This is just a great way to get a blog or first site up and running. If you decide to embark into some new territory then you could certainly use this exercise for that.

    Cheers,
    Tom

Hi Tom, thank you so much for the technically challenged! Helpful to hear “ignore all upsells”, etc., because I get overwhelmed with information, and I don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s like getting car oil change and somebody goes, ‘you need to change this and that, too”. Agh! Thanks for showing us the different marketing pages you did using WordPress package. I appreciate how your message is around reducing uncalled-for stress and anxiety around getting our messages out there, and that you teach what you have taught yourself to do- real practical, no hype.
