3 reasons people are thankful for you and your work

thank you rubber stampIn honor of Thanksgiving here in the states I want to remind you that there are people in the world who are ready to thank YOU for your knowledge, experience and expertise…even if you don’t THINK you’re an expert.

For several years now I’ve been teaching coaches, trainers, speakers, authors and other service providers how to create information products and online courses.

On the surface, this is an amazing way to turn what you know into a profitable business.

But it goes far deeper than this.  The work that you do (the message that you share) can have a profound impact on dozens, hundreds or even thousands of other people.  And it DOES matter that it comes from YOU.

If you have a process that you’ve picked up over the years that can help people achieve a desired result then not only CAN you create info products or courses, but I believe that you have an OBLIGATION to do so.

After all, think of all of the folks who are being left out if you can only share your work with one person at a time.

And when you start doubting whether or not you’re “worthy” of helping others (and getting paid to do so) I want to share three ideas with you:

1) Your message (process, approach, etc) is YOUnique!  You see, nobody can share your story the way that YOU can.  Put 100 people in the same room all talking about the same thing and you’ll have 100 different perspectives.

2) To the 3rd grader, the 4th grader is God.  You don’t have to have it all worked out.  In fact, there will always be “things” to learn and new ways to approach your topic.  But as long as you’re a few steps ahead of your clients, you can get them into action and moving toward their desired destination.  And that’s worth something, isn’t it?

3) Your “mess” just might BE your message!  Sometimes the best work that you can do is to help others get through some crap that you yourself have gone through.  Or maybe you can even help folks AVOID the mess you got into in the first place.

Been through a bankruptcy?  Imagine the value in helping others see the potential pitfalls ahead of them and how to maneuver around them without going broke!

Have diabetes?  Imagine the value in showing folks how to eat sensibly so they can live healthier lives!

In fact, the story associated with what got you INTO the mess to begin with is often what inspires others to want to work with you.

Isn’t it time to have more people thanking YOU for your work?

Leave a comment below and let me know what you’re working on right now.

And as a final note…thank YOU for opening my emails and allowing me to share my work with you!

Cheers,
Tom

P.S. If you know someone who has a message that THEY need to share with the world, be sure to pass this article on to them.

Great post Tom!
I love the concept that the offerings we feel inspired to create and offer through our businesses are there because many of our “people” are searching for them – from us!
Thanks for being an inspiration to me & my biz these past 2 years!
